Draft and League Points

Come draft Return to Ravnica this Saturday at 1pm in the SUB!

Here are the standings after this weekend's Block Wars. There are still plenty of people in reach of the Top 8 and there's still time to get there, so keep coming to events!

Schedule Changes

We somehow missed that MTG Gameday is this weekend in the local shops.  We're going to keep Block Wars this weekend, but it's going to be on Sunday to avoid the Saturday Gameday events. (See this for more info about Gameday: https://www.wizards.com/magic/tcg/events.aspx?x=mtgcom/events/gameday-facts)

In addition, we're going to switch our usual placement of our monthly Standard and Limited events.  This is so the draft doesn't fall on Veteran's Day weekend.

So the new schedule is:

Saturday, October 27: Gameday, local game shops.
Sunday, October 28: Block Wars, SUB 2nd Floor, 1pm.
Satuday, November 3: Return to Ravnica Draft, SUB 2nd Floor, 1pm.
Satuday, November 10: Standard, SUB 2nd Floor, 1pm.

As always, let me know if you have any questions or comments.

Block Wars

Block Wars will be October 27 at 1pm in the SUB.  Here's how it works:

1. Choose any block from the history of Magic. You can find a complete list of blocks here: http://www.wizards.com/Magic/TCG/Resources.aspx?x=judge/resources/sfrblock
2. Build a deck using only cards from that block.  Use the banned list for your block's format (the list is at that same link).
3. If you're missing any (or all) of the cards for your deck, print out proxies of them. There's a description of a couple ways to make proxies here: http://fitssffmagic.blogspot.com/2010/10/banned-list-and-proxy-making-method-for.html
4. Come play to decide the best block in history!

Let me know if you have any questions.  Good luck and have fun.

League Points!

Here are the updated League Points, counting this weekend's Standard results.  It's a close race -- the top three players are basically in a tie for first, and it would only take one or two good tournament showings for several of the others to catch up.  It's also a close race for who will stay in the Top 8 and earn an invitation to the end-of-semester tournament. Keep playing to get points!
