Thursday 12/2 Side Event Results

While the top 8 players did battle in their own invitational event, two side events were run throughout the day. First was a Scars of Mirrodin draft, where 8 players came to do battle. Some of the more bizarre decks I've seen in this format were the result, with lots of draws, some significant parity, and ultimately no undefeated players:

1. 2-1 4-Color Metalcraft by Bryant Benson

2. 2-1 Mono-Blue Mill (!) by Chris Pear

3. 2-1 ????? (I want to guess GW Aggro) by Kevin Hoover

Bonus points to Chris for playing 4 Screeching Silclaws and to Bryant for winning with rainbow. I don't remember for certain what Kevin played.

We also had a standard event with 9 players, which featured a plethora of forests and fatties and a first-time winner:

3. 2-1 GW Landfall by Scott Record

4. 2-1 Mono-White Midrange by Chris Pear
